This year, sadly, we will not be able to mark Remembrance Sunday (November 8) in the usual way by attending commemoration events. We can, however, pay our respects in our own homes.
The traditional parades and services at the war memorials in Runcorn and Widnes have been cancelled to help reduce the spread of coronavirus in our community.
However, I will be paying my respects privately at home at 11am, to remember and say thank you to all those who gave their lives to secure and protect our freedom. I encourage you to do the same in your own homes to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
They will never be forgotten.
We will remember them.
