Contact Centre staff at Halton Borough Council wanted to give something back to the local community this Christmas.

In their role, the Contact Centre staff see and hear first-hand the impact of the cost of living crisis on local people, and they will always do what they can to help them.

As Christmas is a particularly difficult time, the team decided to carry out a foodbank collection. So, they all donated items and arranged a delivery of two large boxes full of food to Widnes Foodbank to help those most in need.

Council Leader, Cllr Mike Wharton, passed on his thanks to the team for supporting the Foodbank in this way.

“While it is an awful situation that anyone in the UK is forced to use a foodbank it is also testament to amazing people like yourselves who help and support those less fortunate. So please accept my thanks for what you have done, as I know it will make a real difference to people in our community and bring some joy into their lives in what would otherwise be an impossible and difficult time.”
