Runcorn panto favourite Christopher Pym will be giving a beast of a performance this year, as he has been named to act alongside former Sugababe Amelle Berrabah and local beauty Rebecca Lake in a star-studded cast for Beauty and the Beast at our Brindley panto.

Many will remember him from playing Prince Harry in Halton Borough Council’s Sleeping Beauty last year, although this time, his good looks will mostly be hidden behind a beast’s costume!

Actor/model Christopher, originally from Warrington, but working in London after hitting national fame after BBC1’s search for a Joseph, Any Dream Will Do, said he was thrilled to be back.

Christopher trained in Musical Theatre at Guildford School of Acting, playing roles including Seymour in The Little Shop of Horrors, Guy in Howard Goodall’s Girlfriends and Herb Lee in My Favourite Year.

He beat more than 10,000 hopefuls to a spot at ‘Joseph School’ on the hit TV show and since then he has gone on to work in professional theatre around the world on various different shows.

As well as acting Christopher is also a commercial model and has worked on various campaigns for television and print and worked with clients including Royal Mail, McDonalds, Esports, New Era, Tescos, Cancer Research, Pro Star, Halfords and many more.

‘Red Dress’ singer Amelle Berrabah will star in the glittering production. She joined the Sugababes in 2005 after their manager had seen her perform years earlier as a member of Amelle’s first band, Boo2.

Amelle is also the first and only member of the Sugababes to achieve a solo number one from her collaboration with TInchy Styder which was the biggest selling single of 2009 (Never Leave You).

After enormous success, for nearly a decade, the Sugababes recently took a break to pursue individual endeavours. Amelle got married and has just given birth to her first child.

They will join former Miss British Isles Rebecca Lake, actor and local theatre star, Andrew Curphey, in the Brindley production.
