Baroque Theatre Company presents the exclusive tour of Ariel Dorfman’s award winning, smash hit play Death and the Maiden on Friday 24 May at The Brindley Theatre (Studio) in Runcorn.

Paulina can do just that, reap sweet justice on one of her torturers. However, life isn’t that simple. Her husband, Gerardo Escobar, believes that she may be wrong and that the man is perhaps not her perpetrator and could be innocent.
As a lawyer, he cannot condone the kidnapping and trial with Paulina acting as judge, jury and executioner.
The consequences of her actions will be far reaching, wrecking her husband’s hard won career and stop a nation’s progress to democracy in the aftermath of dictatorship.

In 1992, Death and the Maiden won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play and has been adapted to both film and opera. Written by human rights activist, Ariel Dorfman, whose works have been translated into more than 40 languages and performed in over 100 countries.
The exclusive UK tour of Death and the Maiden is helmed by award-winning Director, Adam Morley and Producer Claire Bibby. They lead a phenomenal professional cast, Andrew Fettes (Gerardo Escobar) and Keith Hill (Roberto Miranda) with Claire Bibby (Paulina Salas).
