Halton’s Mayor and Consort, Cllrs Val and Stan Hill, had a lovely morning at Halton Lodge Family Hub in Runcorn where the Council’s Short Breaks for Children with Disabilities Service held their Easter family event.
The service provide short breaks for carers of disabled children 0-18 years old. They offer a range of short breaks and support services for children with disabilities/additional needs in conjunction with private and voluntary providers.
During the school holidays they have organised family activities, such as stay and play sessions, and events held at local attractions such as Norton Priory Museum and Gardens.
The Mayor said it was a pleasure for them to meet the staff, parents, carers and the children, and that visiting schools and local groups where children are, and meeting the children, is one of the nicest parts of her role as the Mayor.
