Halton music fans have broken the record for pre-sale sign ups when they flocked to register for Bryan Adams tickets last week.

The Canadian superstar will be performing at the DCBL Stadium Halton on Friday 2 July and demand was so great that extra tickets have now been released.

A spokesman for the concert promoters said: “The pre-sale sign up for Halton broke all our previous records.”

Bryan’s hit-laden show follows on from the highly successful sold-out Elton John concert in the venue in 2017.

Adams’ influence extends four decades, over which time he has released 14 studio albums. And hits have included ‘Summer of ’69’, ‘Run To You’, ‘All For Love’ and ‘Everything I do (I do it for you).

His most recent recording, Shine a Light, whose title track was co-written by Ed Sheeran, debuted at number one on the album charts in March of 2019. The album also features a duet with Jennifer Lopez.

His songwriting has garnered him numerous awards and accolades, including three Academy Award nominations, five Golden Globe nominations and a Grammy Award. He also famously worked with WIdnes singer Mel C on single ‘When You’re Gone’.

Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for the DCBL Stadium Halton, Cllr Phil Harris, said:“ Great news that ticket sales are going well for what I hope could be another sell out.”

“Stadium and other staff will be working hard to ensure as smooth an event as previously , that both residents and local businesses can look forward to in 2021.”

The tour kicks off in Bristol on Sat 26 June. Bryan Adams’ 2021 outdoor tour will also visit Bristol, Cardiff, Scarborough, Telford, Exeter, Canterbury and Leeds, plus The Eden Project in Cornwall and the Cornbury Music Festival in Oxfordshire.

Adams has won 20 Juno Awards and a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture or Television among 15 Grammy nominations, and has been nominated for five Golden Globe Awards and three Academy Awards for his songwriting for films.

Adams has been inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Canada’s Walk of Fame, the Canadian Broadcast Hall of Fame and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
