Could you offer 14 or more hours a week to be a magistrate?

There are vacancies for 200 new magistrates in Cheshire and Merseyside to work in criminal and family courts. It is voluntary, but offers people the chance to provide a valuable service to the community.

Anyone aged 18-70 can apply, you don’t need any formal qualifications and full training is provided. Travel and subsistence is paid for and, if you are employed, you are legally entitled to take time off for the role.
