Do you know what you can recycle and what you can’t? The more we recycle the less the Halton Borough Council has to pay in waste disposal costs. And it has launched ‘Recycle Right’ to educate and inform.

More than 32,000 tonnes of general waste is dealt with by Halton Borough Council every year and the cost of disposing of this waste is costing taxpayers more than £3 million.

Reducing the amount of general waste we produce and recycling more will help save money on disposal costs and the money we save can then be spent on more important front-line services for members of our local community.

It is really important that people understand exactly what they can and cannot recycle through the Council’s kerbside recycling services. To help with this, the Council is running a campaign to raise awareness amongst local residents.

Events are taking place across various locations in Halton, scheduled to run until Friday 12 April to coincide with the Great British Spring Clean.
