Halton Borough Council Register Office staff are working hard to make sure you can have a marriage or civil partnership in Halton.
This comes after The Prime Minister announced plans to further ease lockdown restrictions.
From 4 July, religious and civil marriage ceremonies and civil partnership formations will be allowed to recommence in England if certain conditions around social distancing are met.
While no further detail is available yet, the General Register Office is working closely with partners from across government to develop plans for how ceremonies may safely operate.
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Registration, Cllr Stef Nelson, said :”If you choose to continue with your ceremony, you will be required to comply with all safety requirements, which will be published as soon as possible.
“We appreciate that ceremonies may not go as you may have originally planned we will therefore either: hold any monies paid for a future ceremony; or provide a full refund for all Registration Services provided.”
Couples who have weddings/ceremonies booked beyond this date, may now wish to postpone or cancel their ceremony; our cancellation and refund policy will also apply.
