Due to the coronavirus pandemic Halton Borough Council is putting back the subscription deadline for the renewal of garden waste collections.
This is to help people a time when we know there are pressures on people’s finances and the difficulties that some people may have in making payment.
The subscription year will still be 12 months from 1 June 2020 to 31 May 2021, but payment will not be required to be made until 1 August 2020.
The charge for the new subscription year is £35 per bin and, while payment for the new subscription year is not required to be made before 1 August, residents can choose to pay before then should they wish to do so.
The Council will continue to empty garden waste bins at properties that are currently subscribed to the service until 31 July. A new subscription will be required to be paid by 1 August in order to continue to receive collections from that date. The Council will provide a reminder of this nearer to the time.
Residents who are not currently subscribed, but who would wish to commence the service, should still subscribe before 1 June in order to be sent a licence sticker and begin receiving collections.
Payments can currently be made online at www.halton.gov.uk/gardenwaste or by calling 0303 333 4300. The posting of licence stickers for the new subscription year will commence on 18 May.
