More than 40 young Halton ‘human beans and chiddlers’ enjoyed an enjoy an afternoon of ‘George’s Marvellous Experiments’ at Widnes and Halton Lea Libraries, this week.
Halton Borough Council staff organised a host of fizz-whizzing experimentations from 3.45pm to 5pm. It was all free, celebrating what could have been Roald Dahl’s birthday.
Young people made balloon rockets, saw if it was possible to blow up balloons with popping candy, were amazed by optical illusions, coloured in pictures and found their ‘Roald Dahl names!
If you missed out, don’t worry. Halton Library Services runs lots of free after school activities for parents to bring their children along to. Code clubs are hosted Tuesdays 3.45-5pm at both Widnes and Halton Lea library, where children can get to grips with computer programming.
Lego clubs are also held at Widnes and Halton Lea library throughout the week – Tuesdays 5pm to 7pm at both Widnes and Halton Lea, Monday 3.30-5pm at Halton Lea library and Thursdays 3.30-5pm at Widnes library.
Kids can get creative and build create new inventions, whilst making friends and learning new skills. All library events are free of charge and drop in.
