Halton Trading Standards has been made aware of rogue traders operating in the Borough, pretending to be from The Council.
The traders are nothing to do with HBC. They are telling residents that while fixing another property’s roof (probably not true), they noticed loose tiles on their roof (probably not true).
When the resident stated they did not require their roof tiles fixing, the traders became aggressive.
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Trading Standards, Cllr Dave Cargill, said: “Halton Trading Standards advice is never to deal with cold callers, if you do need work carrying out, try to get written quotes from at least three different contractors before you decide on one.”
