Halton Borough Council has been successful with its bid to be put on the shortlist for money from the Future High Streets Fund to help regenerate Runcorn Old Town
To assist with this, a capacity grant of £150k has been made been available from the Future High Streets Fund to draw up the necessary plans and surveys
Officers will be working with partners to produce a bid comprising of a programme of activity to re-energise Runcorn Old Town.

Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for the Physical Environment, Cllr Ron Hignett said, “I am very pleased to hear that Runcorn Old Town has been invited to submit a full application in relation to the regeneration of the town centre.”
The business case for Runcorn’s bid will be part of a competitive process so the eventual funding is not guaranteed but this is still great news for Runcorn.
