If you were around in the 60s you may remember some of the names on stage as Bringing On Back The 60’s starring the New Amen Corner with special guests comes to the Brindley Theatre on Thursday 11 May.

This fast moving show is a must for lovers of 60’s music, with its s multimedia presentation and special guest appearances from 60’s Icon’s Mike and Pender and Mike d’Abo.

Mike Pender is the voice of The Searchers, one of the greats to have come out of the Liverpool ‘Beat Boom’. His is the rich vocal talent so evident on so many of the hit recordings that have become 60’s classics such as Needles and Pins.

His equally distinctive 12-string ‘jangly’ guitar sound also featured on their other million selling hits such as Sugar and Spice, Sweets For My Sweet , Don’t Throw Your Love Away and When You Walk In The Room.

In 1966 Mike d’Abo was the only one man who could fill Paul Jones’ shoes as front man for Manfred Mann. Already attracting attention with his group, A Band Of Angels, Mike was thrust into a wider limelight with the Manfreds and the well-oiled hit machine kept rolling on.

Just Like A Woman, Semi-Detached Suburban Mr James and Mighty Quinn were just three of the string of hits with the ‘new boy’ in the line-up.

And, like his predecessor, Mike’s career after the disbanding of the Manfreds in 1969 lost none of its momentum. He’d already proved his impressive skill as a songwriter by composing Build Me Up Buttercup for The Foundations and Handbags & Gladrags, a massive hit for Chris Farlowe.

Join us for a fantastic evening with New Amen Corner (Europe’s leading 60s revivalists) and their special guests, as they perform 2 hours of million selling hit’s from the most prolific decade in musical history that was the 1960s.
