Members of The Royal British Legion invite individuals, organisations and associations to take part in the annual Civic Services of Remembrance that will take place in Widnes and Runcorn on Sunday 11 November 2018 – the 100th anniversary of the First World War Armistice.

The Widnes Service will be held at the War Memorial, Victoria Park, Widnes.  The Civic Procession will assemble at 10.05am in Lockett Road (Peel House Lane side of the park gates), and will move off at 10.35am arriving at the War Memorial at 10.45am.  The procession will disperse at the end of the service in Victoria Park.

The Runcorn Service will be held at the Cenotaph, Greenway Road, Runcorn.  The Civic Procession will assemble at St Michael’s Church, Greenway Road, Runcorn at 2.30pm and will move off at 2.45pm to arrive at the Cenotaph at 3pm.

 Rededication of Gardens of Remembrance – War Memorial, Runcorn

On Monday 5 November 2018 at 2pm, part of the two lawns on either side of the War Memorial will be rededicated as Gardens of Remembrance.

A short service of dedication will be held for that purpose and persons wishing to place British Legion Remembrance Crosses are most welcome to do so.

 Two Minute Silence – Sunday 11 November 2018 at 11am

The Royal British Legion has made an appeal to the general public and to organisations to observe a two minutes silence on 11 November at 11am.

Halton Borough Council has agreed to endorse the appeal on behalf of members and staff.
