Legendary singer/songwriter Dean Friedman is coming to Halton Borough Council’s multi-award winning Brindley Theatre Runcorn on Friday 19 May.
Dean Friedman first delighted UK and Ireland audiences with his chart-topping hit, Lucky Stars. The now classic single, paved the way for a slew of hits off Friedman’s critically acclaimed album, Well, Well, Said the Rocking Chair, including familiar tracks, Lydia, Rocking Chair, Woman of Mine, McDonald’s Girl and Ariel.
In a very short time, Friedman had achieved legendary, pop-icon status and was acknowledged, by critics and fans alike, as one of the finest singer/songwriters of his generation.
Dean pursues his career as a truly independent artist, with his albums being financed, not by a major label, but directly by his fans via his website, He has earned a loyal, international following with his insightful and compelling, true-to-life ‘story songs’.
Songs like Saturday Fathers, Jennifer’s Baby, Where Have All the Angels Flown?, Under the Weather and It’s My Job, have prompted enthusiastic audiences to proclaim his songs as ‘the soundtrack to their lives’, dealing as they do with family, friends, neighbours, work and the seemingly trivial, yet ultimately compelling, stuff of everyday life.
In Runcorn, Dean will be performing songs from throughout his three-decade career, including familiar, radio hits and fan favourites. Invite family and friends and join Friedman for an evening of powerful, poignant and hilarious songs about the ordinary and extraordinary lives we share.
