Your children’s centres need you!

Halton Borough Council has a number of volunteer opportunities in its award winning centres. All get free training and valuable experience which could set them up for a career with children.

We need Childen’s Centre Ambassador Volunteers, Play Partner Volunteers and Early Years Activity Support Volunteers.

There will be a recruitment event on Thursday 13 September  at Ditton Children’s Centre, Dundalk Road, from 10am to noon and 2pm to 4pm.

Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Children, Young People and Families, Cllr Tom McInerney, said: “We have eight children’s centres across Halton offering a range of services for young people and families.

“There volunteering opportunities would be ideal for anyone who wants to work with young people as a career, or give something back to the community.”

For more information and a registration form, please contact ccvolunteering@halton.gov.uk or call 0151 511 7515.

A Children’s Centre Ambassador will support and help prepare publicity boards, attend planned events to promote services and encourage professionals and local families to register and access services.

A Play Partner Volunteer will visit families in their own homes with a Children’s Centre Worker to support families to play and interact together, observe children playing and plan next steps for the child’s learning.

An Early Years Activity Support Volunteers will support the children’s centre team to plan, carry out and evaluate groups within the centres and other venues. They will support children and families to engage in play opportunities and support Children’s Centre Teams to set up and clear away after sessions.

*All volunteers will need to complete a DBS check.
