Improvement work at Runcorn East railway station is set to start in order to enhance customer experience.
As part of Transport for Wales’ station improvement vision, work to deliver improvements to customer facilities at Runcorn East will begin towards the end of this month.
The train operator says the upgrades aim to ‘enhance the overall customer experience of visitors’ to the station.
The projects will primarily focus on customer improvements within the stations, including CCTV, help points, passenger waiting and cycle shelters, seating, lighting, waste facilities, signage and branding.
Lisa Cleminson, stations director for Transport for Wales said: “We are delighted to be progressing with this project.
“These station improvements offer tangible benefits to our customers and visitors to Runcorn East and Flint stations. This significant investment in both stations will introduce an array of new and upgraded facilities and will really enhance the overall customer experience.”
Transport for Wales is working closely with contractor Taziker, as well as industry and local partners on this project.
Work is currently scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023, but before then, Transport for Wales is encouraging customers to plan in extra time to allow for potential disruption.
