Introducing Halton Business Support…

Halton Council’s Business Support Service is committed to helping local companies with a range of business-focused solutions which includes:

  • Strategic management and business planning
  • Digital marketing and sales
  • PR and content creation
  • Tendering and bid writing
  • Environmental performance with an emphasis on net zero
  • HR support
  • Manufacturing processes and efficiency
  • Financial management

The fully funded consultancy support is available at no cost to eligible organisations in the borough of Halton and focuses on small and medium sized businesses. The support is tailored according to the company’s individual needs and delivery can be one-to-one, one-to-many, online, or a combination of all three approaches.

Whether it’s help with PR and marketing, HR or finances, you’re looking at ways to make your manufacturing processes more efficient or you just need some fresh insights to give your business the kick start it needs, Halton Business Support is ready to help.

Funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead authority, the project has already proved its value having been running successfully throughout 2024 with 170 businesses already reporting positive results from the support and another 500 currently in the pipeline.

One local business which was struggling to keep work coming in, accessed specialist help through Halton Business Support and as a result, was able to gain significant contracts through universities and large organisations and is currently exploring opportunities to develop its model with schools, colleges and universities. This has all been thanks to the support from Halton’s Business Support Service.

Clare Hart, Senior Investment and Growth Officer from Halton Business Support, has been delighted with the success of the service and is looking forward to working with many more Halton businesses in 2025, saying: “I am so proud of being part of the team and helping it progress in the last 12 months. From a standing start, we have built a formidable service and a reputation for being approachable and supportive with the businesses’ interests first and foremost in our minds.”

Dawn Follett, Business Investment & Growth Officer, says: “I can honestly say that I am so privileged to be working with so many fantastic businesses in Halton and am pleased that so many of the businesses have taken advantage of support through the programme. We will continue to grow our relationship with all the organisations and offer whatever support is required.”
