Halton Trading Standards are warning residents about individuals who are cold calling in the Runcorn area claiming to be from Riverside Housing.
The individuals are offering to carry out emergency repairs on properties and say that they need cash before they start.
Halton Trading Standards would like to remind residents not to engage with individuals who cold call, turn up unannounced, and ask for cash straight away.
If you get anyone knocking at your door, STOP and THINK before you agree to anything. If you need work doing around the house obtain a several quotes, discuss with a family member or friend and do not pay up front for any goods or services.
