Halton Borough Council is inviting local businesses and entrepreneurs to apply for an exciting opportunity to run a pop-up café in Crow Wood Park in Widnes serving the community.
The Council is offering a flexible, low‑cost space ideal for a seasonal or pilot café venture. The unit includes a 35m² seating area, a 4.64m² kitchen/utility space, and two accessible toilets, with connections for water, power and waste already in place. There is also potential for both indoor and outdoor seating.
The Council is looking for an operator who can provide high‑quality refreshments, including tea, coffee and light snacks. As part of the offer, the café will be expected to play an active role in the community by hosting or making space available for small events, workshops or social activities. Traders will also need to accommodate the building’s use as a polling station during elections.
All designs and operations should complement the character of the surrounding park, be fully accessible and meet relevant health, safety and food hygiene standards. To support the new venture, the Council will initially cover utility costs.
The café will be offered through a tender process on a Licence basis, giving businesses a valuable chance to test ideas, grow their offer and bring something new to the local area.
Businesses interested in applying are encouraged to get involved and help bring this community space to life.
